Professor Mohammed BELMEKKI is an ophthalmologist working currently as the medical director of the Cheikh Zaid hospital of Rabat Morocco as well as the head of its ophthalmology department.
He is also appointed as a professor of ophthalmology at the International University of Abulcasis for Health Sciences.
His main activity is glaucoma, ocular surface diseases, and corneal graft. This includes penetrating keratoplasty, deep lamellar anterior keratoplasty, and Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty.
He received his pre-medicine studies diploma from the medical faculty Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco, which was followed by an ophthalmology residency in the same university with a short visit to the Maghrabi Eye Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and to the Hospital Quinze Vingt of Paris, France.
He has contributed to many papers published internationally.
