
Dr. Albreiki completed her residency training in ophthalmology at the Ottawa University in Canada. She then proceeded with a subspecialty in neuro-ophthalmology and adult strabismus surgery at the Ottawa Eye Institute. Dr. Albreiki worked as an assistant professor at the Eye Institute in Ottawa, Canada up until the summer of 2023.
Dr. Albreiki has a passion for teaching, and was privileged to be the first to win the Dr. William Clarke medical teaching award two years in a row in 2015 and 2016 and a third time in 2023 and received the Golden Educator Honor from the National Guard Ophthalmology residency training program in Riyadh in 2025.
When in Ottawa, Dr. Albreiki was a member of the EYE VAN, content expert and co-director for the ophthalmology undergraduate “Anglo stream” program, the founder of the “Mentor to inspire” mentorship program for the ophthalmology residents, an examiner for the national and international Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the founder and organizer of the first and annual Canadian neuro-ophthalmology review course.
Dr. Albreiki is currently working at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is Deputy program director for the Ophthalmology residency training program, is an external examiner for national and international ophthalmology residency board exams, is the president of the Saudi Neuro-Ophthalmology Association, and has been privileged to be invited as a guest speaker nationally and internationally.
